I got this for some coffee table hot pot, while watching TV.First of all, its incredibly simple to use. Plug it in, add water, and turn the dial. The dial has two heat settings, which seem to equate to simmer and boil. Theres no other temperature control. I honestly thought that would be a bigger pain than it really is.Heating is relatively quick considering its rated at 700w, but adding a bunch of frozen goodies to the boiling liquid quickly brought it to a halt and took longer than expected to heat back up. i kind of expected this, and to get going I started off by adding a little water and brining it to a boil, then adding separately boiled water from a kettle to fill the pot.Honestly though, even though it requires a bit more patience than Im used to for hot pot, its so convenient that Im willing to forgive pretty much anything. Except the cord length. I dont know what they were thinking on this one, but its SO short. Luckily its a normal computer (IEC) power cord so finding a suitable longer one is easy enough.Cleanup is sort of odd, because they caution you not to immerse in water because there are vents in the bottom. The heating portion (the pot) does NOT come out, so you do have to wash in place, and carefully enough to not get the rest of the unit wet. Id really like it if the inner pot was removable for cleaning, but its non-stick so it cleans up quickly at least.Overall Im very happy with this unit. Its just barely big enough for two people, and requires some deliberate usage to make it work, but its so convenient that its worthwhile.

Update 2: wanted let some people know of a potential problem with this pot, more to the point the cord that comes with it. I still think this pot is the neatest thing since sliced bread but this is something you need to pay attention to. I've noticed that when I put it on the higher of the two settings the cord gets really warm. this could be a potential problem. it's not an issue for me because I'm sitting here keeping an eye on it. NOTE! you cannot put this thing on high and walk away from it. if you're smart! you never know. stuff happens. I just wanted to get that warning out there for folks.pay attention to it. don't walk away from it.Update 1/7/23: so I just made pancakes and eggs in this little skillet pot combo. I never had to turn it up on the high heat. it cooked perfectly on the low heat. I threw some butter in there, let it melt, put a few dollups of the pancake mix in, let it spread out, cooked it till it were done. threw the eggs in with a little extra butter.absolutely fantastic!! I love this cooking tool.I briefly touched on the fact that I have arthritis in my hands. now I personally love cooking with cast iron but it causes me so much pain to use it. this little pot Skillet combo, I can lift easily with no pain. I can shimmy it around to spread the butter, absolutely no pain. just thought I'd mention that.Original review :i needed something smaller than say a 6 qrt cooking pot/skillet. this gives the best of multiple worlds. big enough to cook a decent meal, a steaming topper. so i can make multiple item small size meals. GREAT when your trying to lose weight! this is 1 of the reasons i purchased this item! it's honestly got me puzzled as it looks/feels like good quality plastic but inside the pot MAGIC!! it acts as a very nice frying pan, sauce/stew pot etc.. it is simply is the absolute perfect size for my needs. i am really impressed. now some might see the handle as a bit to large..i do not. it allows me to get a REALLY good grip. i have arthritis in my hands and most pan handles cause me greif because they are smaller. this truly combinesa pot with a skillet. REALLY fantastic design in my mind! i love the look & the size. the squarishness will fit perfectly in a drawer/cabinent. at some point i plan to do the rv life for a few yrs or forever...LOL and this lil pot is one of the items that will allow me to eat well while living the nomad life. Thanks to the manufacturer, designer & seller.

I love this electric nabe pot so much!! It heats up fast - you must keep lid on to get broth boiling. It holds enough nabe (Japanese hot pot) stew ingredients for four people at a time, maybe a little more. Don't let the depth fool you - you can fit a lot in here! I use it for cooking nabe all winter long. I have also sauteed in it when my stove was occupied by too many pots.Keep in mind that the primary use for this is to heat liquid or semi-liquid foods like stews and broths, even fondues. That is why the bottom of the pot is slightly concave because it is not meant to be a flat frying pan. I think Zojirushi tries to demonstrate American recipes in order to market some of their products in the US, when these products were really intended to make certain Japanese recipes. So some people get confused about how this kind of pot isn't perfectly flat on the bottom, or wonder if it's supposed to be like a crock pot slow cooker, etc. The concave bottom helps with heat distribution and it is made for cooking soup-type foods to be eaten immediately AT THE TABLE while you cook, like nabe, sukiyaki, shabu shabu. If you can find other creative uses, that's great! But don't expect it to do all things as if it wasn't primarily an electric Japanese stew pot. It's also super easy to clean, and very safe with the cord that unplugs if tugged while in use so it doesn't still the pot all over. And electric is much safer than those gas canister nabe burners I used to have!If you are considering this one, the EP-PBC10 or the other Zojirushi model EP-RAC50 that has two inner pots (one deep and one shallow), I highly suggest getting this one, the EP-PBC10. The reason is because the depth of the pot makes zero difference if you are sauteeing food, which is what Zojirushi tries to say the shallow pot is for with the EP-RAC50. But I checked out that model in person at a store, and the shallow pot still has the slightly concave bottom as the deep pots, so it doesn't make any difference when sauteeing. You could do the sauteeing in the deeper pot. The inner pot that comes with this EP-PBC10 model is in between the two sizes of the pots with the EP-RAC50. I find the one pot that comes with this EP-PBC10 model to hold enough volume for the four-person nabe stew cooking I do. If I had the EP-RAC50, I would probably never use the shallow pot, and the deeper pot would be bigger than I need.I hope this helps anyone else who wondered the same things that I did about these two models.

This is a cute small sized 2L electric hot pot.Can be used for camping, RV living, really anywhere.I like the natural color it comes in since my cooking utensils and dishes are the same neutral colors. The non stick coating on the inside of the pot seems in fact non stick. I use either silicone or wooden cooking utensils for this. I wouldnt use stainless steel utensils for this as you want to prevent scratches and damage to the inside of the pot.Now it does come with a detachable power cord, so for anyone wondering how to clean this hot pot without submerging it in water, you can easily wipe down the inside with a wet paper towel then finish with a dry paper towel. You do not need to actually wash this with a sponge or scrubber. It has a nice weight to it but is still lightweight and does not take up hardly any counter space. The lid has ventilation holes and while in use the steam coming out is very hot so keep the ventilation holes away from your arm when uncovering the lid.It heats up very quickly if you turn it on its highest setting. There are only 2 settings, but I find using it on its highest setting works well for me when making noodles, eggs, soups, etc.the light will come in when you turn the knob to the desired setting. It switches off intermittently as a safety precaution while in use but turns right back on a minute later. This does not affect the cooking process, its only to make sure it doesnt get overly heated. The pot does not get too hot on the outside that you wont be able to handle it.After making some ramen, I could immediately unplug it and transfer the pot onto the table and eat out of it.There is a portion line on the inside labeled MAX. This is to ensure liquids you put inside of it doesnt bubble over or out while cooking.I made a shrimp Alfredo pasta with this but cooked the pasta noodles in a separate pot, but I made everything else in this hot pot. This would be ideal for your college student, camper, small apt, or hotel travel since hotels typically only have a microwave.I think this would make a great gift as well! The price is more than fair and it does come with a warranty and I think this cooking appliance is literally fool proof to use.I stopped using my huge crock pot and instead use this since its just my husband and I, and a large sized crock pot is a pain to use when Im not making huge portions of a roast or stew. This small pot is also easier for me to handle since I have hand tremors and loss of dexterity, while a large crock pot is quite heavy and my crock pot isnt non stick either. Clean up with this is a breeze. My husband loves using this himself!
