I had been looking for a big tall vase for my girlfriend, who wanted something to display wine corks in as decoration. Shes very particular and after ordering and receiving a handful of smaller, much thinner glass, lower quality pieces (a couple of which arrived in about 10,000 pieces) ranging from $35-85 or so, I came across this beauty. The table was packed with care, cushioned on top and bottom, in a box within a box, so the shelled surface arrived in perfect condition. The cylinder is hollow but weighty, and certainly substantial enough for a low-traffic area. Placing this table between two armchairs has added texture and color to a soft white and gray room. The height is perfect and the 14-inch width works well as a drinks table for entertaining. The off-white, gray and light blue mother-of-pearl tiles reflect a bit of sheen

This vase is suitable for a formal or semi-formal room. It is tall and attractive. I use it for long-stem floral arrangements. I now own two, and they front my fireplace. I filled them with magnolias, branches of small and large pine cones, and bare branches. I added holly berries for the Christmas season. These displays cost more than the vases, but the effect is beautiful. I would like to own tall ceramic vases, but the risk of breaking them is likely.

I'm glad I bought this. It looks like it was handpainted. It' just the right size. The quality seems really good. I haven't put it out yet to see how it does in the rain. Waiting until spring. Keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't rust.
