This is the third ice cream maker I ever bought. The first one I bought was one with a freezer bowl. I wanted to make ice cream at home so badly that I didnt think of the pros and cons with a freezer bowl. When I heard of compressor ice cream makers that did not need any pre-freezing, I got one that was rather small and still difficult to clean as I had to clean the inside that was attached to the machine and while it said it would finish the final product in mere minutes, it didnt really. Somewhat heavy, but made freezing ice cream very easy. Lift out metal tub within a couple minutes, all Triple Chocolate ice cream scooped into my plastic ice cream tubs for hard freezing.
So far so good. Sticks to appliances & keeps cords from getting in the way. Im going to order more. This size is perfect for thicker cords like toasters

Got this because my Cuisinart freezer bowl stopped freezing properly and having to hope that my bowl was frozen solid to finish my ice cream/sorbet wasn't ideal. Luckily, its fairly simple to operate. Easy to clean. Its also fairly quiet, and seems to be very sturdy, I wish I could leave it on my counter, as its a bit heavy for me to schlep around at my age, but its doable. Its not even drinkable for a milkshake, the consistency is straight water. Makes a lot of ice cream and is much cheaper than the other two types of ice cream makers (freeze a bowl in the freezer for several hours and then put it in a machine that turns the bowl or the kind that come with a built in compressor to chill the bowl as it' being churned). We made a batch of strawberry ice cream so far and it turned out to die for! Just cream, sugar and frozen strawberries ! The best I have ever had! This machine is so easy to use! I mixed sugar and strawberries and heated it on the stove until the sugar was melted about 5 minutes. Then added heavy cream and just tasted it too make sure it was sweet enough. That' it and it was wonderful! Make sure you only fill the container 80% full. It took about an hour for the machine to stop.
