Don't use generic. Your system will love the original. After two years I finally understand what this cartridge does. It monitors and electrically zaps the salt to make chlorine. Just the right amount. No need to ever shock your tub with chlorine.Get a digital salt monitor and pH meter. There are 30 dollar all in one units you just dip in the tub.
I trust Hot Springs products. This concentrated chlorine works well.

Obviously this is used in a Freshwater salt system hot tub. Easy to install and works great. The only complaint I have is that these things cost a lot of money and only last about 4 months, but they do the job.
