We drink a lot of cold tea. This helps make the tea and prevents build up of tea leaves in the filters of the pitchers we use. We collect the used tea leaves in a kitchen compost bucket before adding them to our vegetable garden. It is okay as far as cleaning, but not great. it is best to empty the tea leaves in a composter then rinse and dump the remaining leaves in the composter before letting it dry to remove the small amount of left over tea leaves.
Get your return on investment after one use! (Especially if you, like me live by a fancy coffee place that sells 20 oz cold brew for $8, full of ice )I use mine every weekend and brew three cups of cold brew for the week. My 10 oz bag of coarse grounds lasts a little more than a month.I used to fumble around with smaller tea strainers and made a mess, trying to strain the grounds several times a week, or several times each batch if I wanted more than one serving. Bummer, cuz I still ended up
First thing first - I love coffee, but specifically I love iced coffee. Making iced drinks at home was challenging/a hassle because i don't want to invest in a big, bulky coffee maker with iced functions, and coffee pods. I feel they are horrible for the environment and are so wasteful of plastic (like the bottles of cold brew sold at the grocery store, as well). Because of my desire to make the best coffee with the least amount of waste, all of the coffee accoutrement I've invested in is metal,
I went through 2 Takeya cold brew coffee pitchers. The fittings and filters lasted, but the Takeya pitchers cracked, turning the whole set into a bunch of plastic trash.I'm trying to get away from plastic anyway (not to mention getting away from buying stuff that will only last a year or two).I love that this is stainless & silicone. I love that it fits a wide-mouth mason jar. I love how well-made it is: the seam is rolled and pressed tightly for a smooth finish, the bottom is fitted securely, a
Handy Brewer that fits perfectly on my big Mason jars. It works great, is easy to use, coffee tastes great. Pitcher lid workes great and makes a good seal. It' easy to clean and seems high quality.
I have gotten other brands of these that fell apart in several months. Ive had this brand for over 6 months and they are amazing. I make 1/2 gallons of cold tea 4-5 times a week in 1/2 gal mason jars and we drink mint, chai and roasted barley tea all year round. Really well made.you can even wack the used tea leaves out in your compost container ,without any damage!
When my wife asked me: "Where does all your money go!" and I discovered that I was spending an obscene amount of money per month on cold brew from various outlets. I realized I should try to make my own cold brew and so I began just putting ground coffee into jars of water and letting it sit overnight. Initially this method worked but 1/3 of the brew was just soaked coffee-mud at the bottom and was a %#*@ to clean.I wanted to take brewing more seriously so I found this filter and purchased it,
Despite the low price, the filter, which is most important, is excellent quality. It' made of a multi-layer mesh, which filters out all but the fines. It definitely filters better than my french press. To save water when cleaning it, I first dump out the coffee, and then place it into a pint beer glass to rinse out the rest of the grounds. The people who are complaining that it leaks are just using it wrong. it doesn't leak at all. There are 2 different gaskets. It comes with one big flat gasket
Fit perfectly in my 1/2 gallon canning jars..easy to use, easy to clean.
The quality is better than I expected. Im returning it because it is smaller than I thought (my mistake) I didnt read the full description. I dont recommend it for the 64 oz Mason jars which is what I already have, its better for the 32 oz jars.
I have tried to get into cold brewing coffee recently and through some recommendations, bought this. The only other method I've personally tried is the cheesecloth straining method from a mason jar. The flavor was great, but the straining process was a little more involved and messy than I prefer. The Toddy system was highly recommended to me, but the pricetag ultimately scared me away. I bought this on the recommendation of a family member who' been very pleased with their results. My personal
Three people in my family are coffee drinkers, and I used to make cold brew by steeping coffee in a big bowl on the counter overnight then straining it through a cloth lined sieve into a pitcher. The coffee was good, but it was messy to make. This system is amazing. It does the same thing but in the jar we store it in, and the strainer is easy to empty and clean. I have used store bought ground coffee and coarse ground from coffee shops. The storebought tends to leave sludge in the bottom of the

I have 2 of these so i can just swap them out and there is no downtime while Im steeping. Steeping takes about 24 hours. Well worth the money I have saved already. Cold brew for me is now $2.50 for the entire week instead of $20-30.Ive had 3 sent to me and out of those 3, one leaked. However, they quickly replaced it with a new device, no questions asked.2.5 cups of coarse ground works great. I havent had a batch that tastes bad. Whether its good or great, depends on the brand of coffee
This works great for homemade plant milk and any other concoction you want to keep around. It has a nice wide mouth that makes it easy to clean, and the gasket on the top keeps liquid from seeping out. Overall very nice.

Very thick two quart jar with one cup markings. Like the other reviewers I was frustrated over the lid not being able to fit securely with the infuser and infuser top taking up too much space. I kept trying to make everything fit without success. I was thinking that they should design a lid with more threads. Then a relative came along and suggested that I remove the silicone gasket. I was afraid that it would leak, but it didnt. Now it fits and works fine so far with no leakage. Although I am
